Bobbins in zip bags in bigger zip bags
I have a new knitting project. Well, not new, really, just not so far along. I bought the yarn on New Year's Day, with gift money from PoP and Jean. It is a vest in simple stockinette stitch. The not so simple part is there are ten yarn colors in a pattern that changes about every seven rows. I made it more complicated by choosing to knit it in one piece on long circular needles. The first band had 48 color changes. It was a nightmare, a tangled mess. No wonder I put it down, unable to make progress. I had to take time to think about a way to manage it. The yarn is now wound around bobbins instead of larger balls. The bobbins for each section are put in sandwich-sized zip bags. As I knit across a row, the little bags are transferred from a gallon-sized zip bag on my left hip to one on my right hip. At the end of a row, I flip it over and start again.
I need a project like this now. My life seems out of sync. I need to manage the different color yarns of my life.
